Remove Negativity
My guest today is Mike Lander who has followed a very interesting path that has led him to his current title of procurement director. Among other things, he negotiates the sales of businesses and handles millions and millions of dollars.
But this show is not about how to become a procurement director.
It is about how to ignore and tune out those people, those words, the voices that tell you that you are less than, not good enough, not smart enough, not educated enough, or didn’t come from the right environment.
It is about tuning INTO that voice inside of you that says DONT LISTEN TO THEM! LISTEN TO YOUR OWN VOICE.
Self- confidence is something that takes some nurturing. It is nice if someone else can do that for you, but that often doesn’t happen. It is very easy to allow someone else to define who you are and what you can do.
But with the awareness that it is YOU who defines who you are and with a little encouragement from others who soared despite the being told they couldn’t, you can learn to listen to the only voice that matters YOURS. And make your life what you want it to be.
Mike Lander heard a lot of “NO” in his life. But he didn’t listen. He is here to tell you about his story and wants you to know that your own power and sense of self can take you anywhere.

ABOUT MIKE LANDER
Mike has had an eclectic career including engineering, project management, high value consulting and entrepreneurship.
His start in life was like any kid growing up in a working-class family. His first job was at 16 when he left school and joined an engineering company as an apprentice.
The remarkable bit was at the age of 42 Mike raised several million pound from a UK bank and grew a consultancy to over 120 people.
The lesson here is no matter what people tell you, at any age, having a north star that you consistently work hard towards yields results.
Mike is an accomplished entrepreneur, Chairman, Chartered Director and seasoned Board Advisor.
Mike now specializes in helping suppliers negotiate better commercial deals with big clients, especially when Procurement get involved.
