HTL 096: Learning to Put Yourself First – the importance of Self-Care in order to care for others, with Jenine Kenna

Today we are talking about learning how to Put Yourself First.

That’s right. Putting yourself first. Looking out for number one. Creating boundaries.

Ooooh, that feels uncomfortable, doesn’t it?

It sounds so…selfish. Being selfish is considered a negative trait. We have put it in our heads that if we have responsibilities to others and we take some time for ourselves we are being selfish.

I would really like to change this perspective.

I like the term, SELF-CARE, instead of the term selfish.

Selfish is not caring about anyone else but you.

Self Care is about taking care of yourself first so that you are in the best position to care for others.

How to Put Yourself First
