Where It All Started

Pete was born in Bronx, NY, and lived there until the age of 12. He moved to San Diego, CA when his family relocated. The move from gritty New York to the sunny beaches of California was a huge culture shock, but art made the transition easier. He was a shy kid. In his second week at a new elementary school in San Diego, Pete drew Bart Simpson and Vanilla Ice and astonished kids who were watching him draw. After that, Pete became a popular kid and has been painting ever since.

Pete’s artwork is influenced by artists of the past and present. It was the graffiti on the trains and buildings of New York the influenced him the most. Y Pete would spend Summers, as a teenager, back in NYC with his older brother and his family. Seeing the graffiti art made an impact on him.

When creating artwork, Pete pulls from his own personal life experiences. Pete is inspired by his life struggles, failures, and accomplishments. He uses these memories in hope that it will inspire others.
