Today we are talking about marriage.
Marriage is still a goal for most people. But, I often think that it is entered into with a “happily ever after” mentality; that it will be automatically blissful forever.
But like everything organic, it is a growing, morphing, changing entity just like the people who are in it. It changes because of those growing, morphing, changing people who are in it.
So, in order to preserve it, you have to make it a priority.
When you make it a priority and set the intention to keep it shiny while everything around it changes, you have lined yourself up for success.
It is not hard to do, it is just a skill set that can be learned. We are not taught this because many don’t about it themselves.
It can be learned the hard way, through experience and hard knocks, but now, with the wonder of information at our fingertips, it is readily available for those who seek it.
I am speaking with Eric Wooten, who is a couples counselor, and together with his wife, Jill, is the founder of Altared Marriage which aims to help couples nurture their bond and thrive in their marriage.
I hope this podcast comes at the right time for you. I hope it gives you a direction if you are at a crossroads. And as always, I hope it gives you the impetus to learn more, and be better than you were yesterday.
