Today I am speaking with Master Sarah Chung, a 6th dan taekwondo black belt and winner of multiple international medals for her sport, including gold in the Asian Championships in 1992.
She also has a master’s degree and is working on her Ph.D.
She has written a book. She is a teacher, a coach, a referee, an entrepreneur.
As you can tell she is good at everything she does! How does she do it?
There are many steps, but they are finite and manageable. It’s a formula, really.
And right now Master Chung is going to summarize these steps that are from her book, Master your Mind, Master you Life: How to Achieve Greatness.
Every week I have great interviews on how to be the adult you can be! I invite you to follow me!
ABOUT SARAH CHUNG
Master Sarah Chung is a certified teacher, a certified fitness instructor, a certified International Para-Taekwondo Coach, a 6th Dan Taekwondo black belt (since 2006), an International Referee, and an author. Born in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, she lived there until she went to Canada to study for her master’s degree at the University of Ottawa, in 1993. She still lives in Canada today, having worked in numerous roles, and is the founder of TAEROBICS ™ and the proud mother of two sons.
Sarah’s life revolved around the martial art of Taekwondo for many years, winning the Asian Championship in 1992 and the SEA Games in 1989, 1991, 1993, and 1995. She also participated in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and has been inducted into the Taekwondo Hall of Fame.
Her master’s degree thesis, on the mental strategies of international level Taekwondo athletes, inspired her to take it a step further and to write her first book. Master Your Mind, Master Your Life is a book that helps readers to prepare themselves in the pursuit of their dreams, building confidence and pursuing them until they find success. Currently, She is completing her Ph.D. in Education.
In her free time, Sarah is always eager to learn and has an adventurous streak when it comes to trying new things or traveling. She likes to relax by reading or listening to music and is an avid sports and fitness fan, taking part in an annual charity run for the Toronto Zoo. She also devotes some of her time to volunteering at her local church, her sons’ schools and is still active with Taekwondo Canada.
As far as the future goes, Sarah hopes to be able to pass down her knowledge and experience to the next generation and work with athletes, students, coaches, and parents who would benefit from her experiences.
