Mominar 071: How to Get Rid of Footprints in Your Shower or Tub

In this MOMINAR I am going to talk about how to get rid of footprints in your shower or tub.

Fiberglass tubs are a popular choice in modern homes due to their lightweight and durable properties.

You may notice that your tub or shower has footprints or dirt stains that won’t come out no matter what you use.

This is especially so if you have a fiberglass tub. They use a lot of fiberglass these days because it is cheaper and lighter than the old metal tubs but it is really hard to clean!

They accumulate dirt and grime over time, which can make them look gross and unsanitary.

But here is a relatively easy way to get rid of footprints in your shower or tub using these three simple household ingredients: white vinegar, baking soda, and Dawn dishwashing detergent.

In fact, I haven’t found any commercial product that does a better job than the combination of these three products.

They are cheap and readily available. You can even get everything at the dollar store.

First, you will gather all of your materials.  You will also need a sponge or brush and clean towels.

Next, You are going to prepare the cleaning solution. Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Add a few drops of Dawn dishwashing detergent to the mixture for added cleaning power. Shake the bottle well to ensure that the ingredients are well combined.

Spray the cleaning solution generously on the entire surface of the fiberglass tub, paying special attention to areas with soap scum or stains. Allow the solution to sit for 5-10 minutes to give it time to penetrate and loosen the dirt and grime.

The next thing I do is sprinkle baking soda on top of the cleaning solution. Be generous. Cover the entire area, especially the really stained area.

Now you are going to cover all of it will clean towels and gently press down. Then pour the vinegar all over the towels. Saturate it. Let this sit for 10-20 minutes.

After that, you can use the towels to scrub the entire surface of the fiberglass tub, paying extra attention to stubborn stains and soap scum. Use gentle circular motions. You can also use a sponge, but avoid using abrasive cleaners or scrubbers that could scratch the surface of the tub.

Finally, rinse the shower or tub thoroughly with hot water to remove any remaining cleaning solution and dirt. Look how much better that looks!

If there is some stubborn dirt or stains that remain, you can repeat the process or spot-clean the area. And that’s it.

Give this a try and let me know how it worked for you.
