Mominar 044: How To Show Up To A Job Interview

You applied for a job, they liked your resume, and now they invite you in for an interview.

You are almost there!

The interview can really seal the deal for you, and how you present is really important. Not just to make a good impression but to show respect for the employer and the job, as well.

When you look good you feel good and that can give you the edge you need.

Here is a checklist for you to follow for any job interview in any field. It is kind of a must.

  • Shower-don’t smell.
  • Comb your hair
  • Nails cut and clean even if you are a mechanic
  • Clothes are clean and pressed.
  • Shoes are shined and not shabby
  • Breath is fresh
  • Eye contact
  • A firm but not an aggressive handshake or a slight bow is respectful.
  • Be relaxed and answer the questions. Don’t tell long stories or go off on a tangent. Keep it focused.
  • Be honest. Don’t lie, don’t exaggerate. Tell the truth and be sincere. Don’t try to bluff them.
  • Smile and try to be at ease. Not only for your own sake but to give them the impression that you are confident in your abilities.
  • When you are interviewing for a job, give yourself the best chance of making a good impression by following these tips.

You may have to go on a few interviews and that is okay. You will get the job eventually. Look smart and go get ‘em!
