If you have ever been worried about a threatening email, text, or phone call, have no fear! This Mominar will give you tips on how to spot and avoid phishing SCAMS!
Emails:
- The name of the sender should be just the company.
- The sender’s email address. Where is it coming from? Don’t look at the graphics, many look real. Because they are a screen shot of a real page from a legitimate company.
- Spelling Grammar and punctuation mistakes.
- Don’t open the links! Hover over and see the address it wants to take you to.
Texts:
- Look at the website address. If that is not enough to convince you, google the company and see the real website.
Phone Calls
- Do you even answer a number you don’t recognize? If you do, do not hit 1 or any other number they ask you to. Listen to the recording, and hang up. If you want, look up the company’s phone number from their official website and call them.
